MEAL KIT – a USDA/FDA product (not yet on the market)
An entrepreneur approached The NFL for review and support of an early-stage concept for a unique meal kit. The NFL formed a team of experts from our Marketing Services, Product Innovation, Commercialization and Consumer Insights groups to assist the client in refining the product strategy and concept to better fit the market dynamics, and in considering manufacturing and distribution options during a one-day “Strategic Solution Session” led by one of our marketing veterans. The NFL continued to support the product launch by gaining consumer insight on recipe protocepts and packaging options through focus groups, conversion of the recipes into prototypes on the bench and, finally, process feasibility and plant trials in our pilot plant. The product will soon be launched on the market.
RICE-A-RONI EXPRESS™ microwaveable rice side dish
The NFL worked as a part of an integrated team with counterparts at Quaker to move the launch for Rice-A-Roni Express™ forward quickly. NFL experts from Product & Process Development, Consumer Insights and Shelf Life Services were involved in many aspects of the product development and commercialization process. The NFL worked side-by-side with Quaker personnel to successfully complete multiple phases of formulation and thermal process development, consumer guidance testing, preliminary shelf life testing, plant trial and commercialization support.
LA YOGHI yogurt probiotic smoothie
A team of NFL Product & Process Development veterans made bringing La Yoghi to market easier. We handled not only the formulation of the yogurt base and the beverage, but assisted with pilot plant processing of samples, preliminary shelf life testing and commercialization support. Our years of product development experience with dairy products, knowledge of the current probiotic trend, and our outstanding microbiology support came together as one valuable package for this client.
